Before cutover
- Inventory indexable URLs and their jobs.
- One-to-one redirects where the job still exists.
- Staging checks for title, canonical, and noindex accidents.
Day of
Watch the sitemap, the homepage, and a sample of deep URLs. A pretty 404 on a former money page is still a 404.
After
Compare the map to crawl errors. Redirects that chain or loop get fixed, not “watched for a quarter.”
